12 Anime Like Violet Evergarden That You Must Watch

Violet Evergarden was the first to win and reap in its category at the Kyoto Animation Awards, so it piqued the audience’s interest. The jury was allegedly so moved by the story that they experienced a tsunami of emotional avalanches they had never experienced before. The story was superbly written.

It outlined a plot in which a former child soldier, Violet, faces her war crimes while learning to feel through the personal stories of others by depicting the smallest detail of the environment. The following are some of our suggestions for fantastic anime that take place in both reality and fantasy worlds but are similar to Violet Evergarden.

Your Name (Kimi no Na wa)

Your Name

This anime’s plot revolves around love and miracles, and it stars two high school students named Mitsuha and Taki. Mitsuha’s family lives in a small mountain village and runs the local shrine, but the girl yearns for a life in the big city.

Taki attends school in central Tokyo and aspires to be an architect. They both have a dream one night that they are living the other’s life, and despite the fact that they have never met, they begin looking for each other while dealing with the challenges of their environment, such as school and personal life, but most importantly with their own problem: neither of them is passionate about the other, but they gradually begin to take an interest in the other.

On the days of body swap, they leave messages for each other and try to positively interfere in the other’s life. The viewer is hooked when a dramatic turn makes it impossible for the two to meet in person. Then there’s the sense of danger, hopelessness, and darkness, which creeps in unabated among the characters.

The film’s greatest strength is its genuine charm, the mystical investigation, the concern for the characters, and their spiritual growth.

A Silent Voice (Koe no Katachi)

A Silent Voice

Both of these stories have a serious tone to them. This is the series to watch if you’re looking for something sincere and a little sad. Each anime is the work of Kyoto Animation Studio, which is well known for its great stories, deep characters, and amazing animation.

Ishida Shouya is an incurable troublemaker and a true leader at school, where a new student, the deaf little girl Nishimiya Shouko, arrives. Our hero has been disliked by the girl trying to communicate through her notebook since the beginning, which is exacerbated by the fact that Shouko’s disability places a significant burden on the entire class.

Soon, the abuses and humiliations aimed at Shouko come together, and of course, Ishida is the driving force behind the abuse, until he feels what it’s like to be excluded in his own skin. Ishida isolates himself from the outside world because it’s the only way he’ll be able to finish school. Years later, there is still a dark spot in his past that he is unable to forget.

A Silent Voice is more than just a brilliantly constructed drama; it is also a work that reaches deep into the heart. Not only because of the main plot but also because of the numerous side stories it deals with.

A moving story about forgiveness and letting go of the past.

Hatori Chise was willing to give up everything because she had never felt free, so she decided she would be happier as a slave, where others would decide her fate. She is now determined to sign a contract that will allow her to be sold to the highest bidder, as she is unconcerned about what will happen to her in the future.

Elias Ainsworth also shows up at the auction and offers a ridiculous sum in exchange for the girl, so there’s no doubt he’ll be able to take her home. He has other plans for Chise, however; he does not want to keep her as a slave, but rather to raise her as his disciple.

This anime, like Violet Evergarden, features a strong female lead who grows from a lost girl to a strong woman. The romantic aspect is present in both cases, as are challenging scenarios that are kept close to reality despite the fact that they are set in a fantasy world.

Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasu ka? Isogashii desu ka? Sukutte Moratte Ii desu ka?

That’s a long title, and you might recognize it from the translation as WorldEnd: What do you do when the world comes to an end? Are you preoccupied? Will you come to our aid? Willem Kumesh is a former warrior who fought against powerful beasts that posed a threat to humanity. He awakens 500 years later when humanity has become extinct and the species that have survived have left the ground to live on a floating island called Regal Ele.

He eventually meets a group of young girls who appear to be the only Leprechauns capable of fighting the dangerous beasts. The plots are very different, but they both take place in military and war environments where people are treated more like weapons than actual people. A very emotional and dramatic storyline that will undoubtedly make you cry like a baby. Both stories, I repeat, will make you cry a lot.
