The show starts off with a futuristic ambiance and set-up where the vassal state of Kanto was shown to be Kansai. Kanto was a highly skilled criminal who was named Akudama, the subject of our show name. The imaginative space created by Norimitsu was already with fierce actions when Akudama was sent a message to make happen the release of a prisoner named Cutthroat. He was released before his execution as asked by the higher authorities but then when the Four Akudama were going over to earn their pay for their job they found out that they have been tricked and trapped inside a bigger conspiracy. This was made to build their unity so they could break into Shinkansen. Then they would have to steal cargo. The plot might sound dangerously serious with physical and psychological challenges but it also has deep pockets of relief where one can laugh. This was made possible by the very fun characters, one of them was the Swindler. Swindler was an ordinary person who never meant to be a part of the loop but got caught up in the circus through a surprising encounter with another character. She was seeking refuge in fear of getting caught but then she discovered a new role of guardian. The Swindler was enlightened with being the guardian and protector of the ones weaker than her and in dire need of her help.
