Directed and written by Seiki Sugawara and Makoto Uezu respectively, the game, school, and seinen anime runs for 24 mins each. The anime is rated 7.5 by My Anime List (MAL) and 7.4 by IMDb.

Now, this is one of those underrated animes I must say. The anime is really worth watching even for an ideal binge-watcher as well. But this is not quite famous among its viewers. The anime being perfect has scored a more than average rating but since the promotion was not done well enough it didn’t reach the people. If you have not heard its name, it’s quite understandable as I mentioned.
The anime is quite good and the characters are well painted as well. But the manga is responding quite well, I must remind you. The manga is selling like hotcakes and the writer is still publishing new volumes to date.
So, if you’re worried about the source material then, there is plenty for the makers to cover. But the thing is whether the makers come up with the new season is a question, which even we are unfamiliar with.
Since the manga is a success and the anime received quite a rating and even pleased the critics and with plenty of stories to cover, the anime may return.
So long story short, the anime’s release date has not been announced, so like you guys we too are waiting for its official announcement.
Let’s wait for another year or so and see how things mold if the makers show any interest to cover the comeback. You can expect the release by or by at the earliest.

D-Frag Season 2 Story
With Kazama joining the team everyone got along well with each other. Roka and Tako too were seen patching up things amongst themselves.
With the new season, you might expect new faces, as new chargers might be introduced in the comeback season.
Things get tense and pretty interesting when the duo falls for Kazama at the same time. Season 2 might as well focus on this tension and how they each try to impress Kazama.
All we can suggest is that the anime is really interesting. Let’s see how the makers think about it.
