Although the anime is a bit old, it really doesn’t matter now, does it? The story is emotional and the theme songs give us sheer joy.
Anyways let’s not go into it. Before I start the discussion about the topic at hand. I would like to discuss the anime first, for those who are not aware.

The Story of Naruto
Belonging from the Uzumaki clan, Naruto aka Naruto Uzumaki is a Shinobi. Before he was born a nine-tailed fox attacked the village of Hidden Leaf where he was born. Killing the villages one after the other the monster was creating havoc.
Seeing no other option, the clan leader of the village sacrificed his life and killed the monster. But before dying he sealed the nine tails inside infant Naruto.

What Power Did Naruto Get from Itachi?
Itachi faced Naruto thrice. When and where I will tell you. Itachi was visiting Konoha. This is the first time both of them met. Now, from a distance, it would seem that he came back in order to kidnap Naruto but that is not the case. He came to visit Konoha in order to make Danzo aware of his presence.
His showing up was a warning to Danzo and other shinobi’s that if anything happened to Sasuke then he will not spare their life.
The second time they met was when Team 7 was on a mission. Itachi, using his shadow clone, was asking Naruto about Sasuke’s whereabouts. But Naruto was not paying any heed to his words, so he forced the crow with Shisui’s eye on him.
The History Behind it
He placed his eyes under him knowing that the eyes were the strongest Genjutsu user. He also believed that he would die very soon and Naruto was the only key to save Sasuke.
He was aware that Sasuke will take the eyes from Naruto when the time comes. Now, let us look into the reason behind him placing the eye.
Why Did He Place the Eye?
The crow was placed in Naruto because he was aware that if Sasuke ever tried to use the mange yo Sharingan, over Naruto. Then the eyes of Shishui will put him in a state where he would become the strongest Genjutsu, and that is a koto amatsukami.
But Itachi himself ended up using the eye in order to break out of Edo Tensei. Then later he buried the crow using Shisui’s eyes. Why? So as not to let the power fall in the wrong hands, as well all are aware of how powerful the eye is.
Now, let’s look into who Itachi is.
Who Is Itachi?
Itachi Uchiha appears in the 80th episode of the anime. Belonging from the Uchiha Clan, he was born to Mikoto and Fugaku Uchiha.
He is the older brother of Sasuke. He killed all the members of his clan except for his brother. He died in a climactic battle at the hands of none other than Sasuke himself. He was himself aware that the only way he could meet his death was by dying under his brother’s hand.
Any other details, I will leave for your finding.
