The theft that has been talked about in the series by the group actually existed. The group was based out of California consisting of teens and adults who performed high-profile stealing. The group was called the Bling Ring after which the series has been named. They would include residents living in Hollywood and Calabasas which is known as a house for many celebrities and would steal their personal items that would cost a fortune. This group has performed the crime of more than $3 Million in one year.

The victims included famous people like Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Megan Fox, Orlando Bloom, and many more. This burglary is called by several names like The Burglar Bunch, Hollywood Hills Burglars, etc, and the major members included Rachel Lee and Nick Prugo with other members. Prugo got to meet Rachel who was known to be a troublemaker and they became close pals. Based on Prugo’s point of view he was introduced to burglary by Lee and this method really helped them to get their drugs and drinks.

Over time they got into the idea to steal from celebs to get bigger numbers and in that time the publications were really talking about celebrity and their controversies which gave them even more spotlight and everyone had access to it, thanks to the technology boom and social media. This gave the idea to the group Bling Ring to rob the celebrities leading o one of the biggest cases in the entertainment industry. The group was caught after they were caught on a CCTV. Though they still continued stealing finally they were caught in Lohan’s CCTV at home leading to the arrest of Prugo first and he served imprisonment of one year followed by Haines who served 32 days, Lee for 16 months, and Ames for 3 years of jail and community service of two months and Tamayo served was in probation sentence with 60 days community service and Lopez Jr, pleaded no contest.

Though this series is not the first content ever made on this particular issue as there has been a reality show on this heist, a feature, and a film, then this series might give us some different points to put our attention on.
