Manville praises Timothy Dalton’s portrayal of Peter Townsend in The Crown, emphasizing his fitting casting. She notes his enduring dashing good looks and recounts the enjoyable experience of filming scenes together.

His father, a captain in the Special Operations Executive during World War II, later became an advertising executive.

Approached to play Bond after Roger Moore’s retirement, Dalton’s commitments to filming Brenda Starr posed a challenge. Bond producers had to wait six weeks for him to take on the role in The Living Daylights.
