Being a crime-fighting hero who protects the city from harm’s way sounds like a pretty cool thing. And what makes it better is working as a duo, as a team especially if your partner is also your love interest. But some might forget that fighting against crime and being a hero besides the person you are in love with might as well breed certain problems that might affect the relationship, their hero activities, their bond as a whole, and many more. The famous animated series Miraculous Ladybug has based in modern-day Paris and it does a wonderful job in portraying the exquisite city. The unique animation series deals with an action-packed plot wrapped up in some sweet innocent teenage romance.
The story follows two teenagers mainly. A girl named Marinette Dupain-Cheng and a guy named Adrien Agreste. Marinette Dupain-Cheng is the female lead protagonist of the show. Marinette is a transfer student from China. She recently settled down in France before the main story of the show started, she aspires to be a fashion designer at Collège Françoise-Dupont. She is a 14-year-old teenager with blue hair and blue eyes. Her family owns a bakery in Parish which has earned a high reputation for itself.
Even though Marietta appears as a clumsy and awkward person at times, it should be kept in mind that she is an extremely capable, intelligent, and talented student. Along with her credits in academics, her joyous, playful, sweet demeanor has helped her social life a lot and she is well received and respected by her fellow peers. Her aspirations of becoming a world-famous fashion designer based in New York that everyone has heard of look more than promising as her fashion designs are greatly acclaimed as well, especially by Audrey Bourgeois who greatly admires her fashion sense.
However, Marietta is no ordinary girl, she was the chosen one to hold the powers of Ladybug Miraculous by Master Fu. Which makes her the only one on Earth capable of using that power. With the help of Tikki, who is her kwami, she successfully transforms into her superheroine form “Ladybug”. She completely understands her position and responsibility that comes to her along with the powers that she has received and she valiantly tries her best to successfully fulfill her duty as the protector of the city of Paris. Her weapon is a Yo-Yo that allows her to handle the complex situations that she has to deal with. And not only that, but she also holds a lot of other superpowers that make her actually “Miraculous”. However, Miraculous Ladybug isn’t the only savior of the city of Paris.
Adrien Agreste, a classmate of Marietta. Adrien is a loyal, likable guy who comes from a very rich background. Adrien’s father owns a fashion clothing company and Adrien at times models for the company. However, despite being financially privileged he has deep saddening feelings regarding his relationship with his father. He has never known his mother since she suddenly disappeared long ago without any trace. Just like Marietta, Adrien is also no ordinary guy. Master Fu has chosen him as the current holder of the powers of Cat Noir. His Kwami, Plagg helps him to transform into his superhero from Cat Noir. And just like Miraculous Ladybug, Cat Noir as well as different kinds of power to fight off evil and protect the city.
Ladybug and Cat Noir team up to defeat the evil plans of Hawk Moth and Hawk Moth’s villains who plan to attack the city of Paris and use the negative emotions of the citizens in the city for their own benefit. Apart from that what makes things more interesting are the romantic chemistry Ladybug and Cat Noir shares even though they didn’t know each other’s identity. Marietta is in love with Adrien but not Cat Noir while Adrien is in love with Ladybug but is obvious to the feelings that Marietta holds for her.

Marietta- American voice actress Cristina Danielle Valenzuela also popularly known by her stage name Cristina Vee plays the role of Marietta in the popular animated series Miraculous Ladybug. She has also voice for many anime series such as Rei Hino / Sailor Mars in the Viz Media version of Sailor Moon, Hawk from The Seven Deadly Sins, and many more.
