Next in Fashion Season 2 Release Date

In February of last year, Netflix surprised us with the announcement. The once-cancelled television show Next In Fashion season 2 release date would be renewed, this time with a new host.

Despite its cancellation after the first season, Next in Fashion boasted an impressive 85% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a feat not easily achieved. The 10-episode show featured a stellar lineup of celebrity guest judges. It includes global fashion influencer and Instagram maven Eva Chen, prominent fashion designers Prabal Gurung, Kerby Jean-Raymond, and Christopher Kane, supermodel Adriana Lima, and the legendary Tommy Hilfiger.

Hosted by Queer Eye alum Tan France and model-cum-fashion designer Alexa Chung, the show provided 18 fashion designers with the opportunity to compete in various challenges. The ultimate winner, designer Minju Kim, walked away with a $250,000 (£185,000) cash prize and the opportunity to showcase her designs on Net-A-Porter. It was a significant event, and the competition was intense.

Gigi Hadid to Co-Host Next In Fashion Season 2

In February 2022, the streaming platform announced the upcoming season of the series through a tweet. It reveals that Tan France will be joined by a new co-host – none other than 27-year-old supermodel and mother of one, Gigi Hadid.

A picture of the pair posing at the CFDA fashion fund awards in 2019 accompanied the tweet, which simply read: “Gigi Hadid and Tan France.” Both Hadid and France tagged each other in Instagram posts, officially announcing their partnership on the project and providing details for aspiring designers on how to apply.

Most recently, Hadid shared a carousel of images on Instagram, offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the filming for the show. Before the show’s release on Netflix on March 3, the model posted a charming video of herself on set, receiving an ‘all-access pass’ to the studio. However, she humorously remarked that it only ‘opened one single door in the whole studio’.

Alexa Chung Not Hosting Next In Fashion Season 2

Unfortunately, we still don’t know why Alexa Chung, is the formidable host of season one. It won’t be returning as Tan France’s co-host for the next season. The pair had great chemistry, as you can see for yourself below when ELLE filmed the duo for our fashion game ‘It’s A Mood’.

Many fans of the pair are at least hoping that 38-year-old Chung might make a cameo, perhaps as a guest judge on one of the episodes.

Although it won’t be Hadid’s first appearance on a show of this kind, as the model has previously served as a guest judge on a similar design competition show, Project Runway.
