The drama made its debut in 2016 and the fourth season made its way in 2019. The series received a rating of 8.2 from IMDb, 94% from Rotten Tomatoes, and an audience upvote of 4.8/5. The series is indeed one of the most-watched and loved and enjoyed by a lot of its viewers.

The Durrells in Corfu Season 5 Release Date
The series first aired in 2019. Once BBC stated that the fourth season will be the last and final season of this show. But the creators both had a choice and willpower to move on with the show. But the showrunners announced that Season 4 will be the last and final season. And hence season 5 was canceled. We are finding no hope that it will return.
Although Sally reported that she was indeed excited to carry on with the adventures and to be on further with the series. But we all know that it’s not happening.
So, BBC gave the fourth season a good ending and then called it off. Because they didn’t want to move on with the plot anymore and hence it was canceled. So, folks, you will no longer get to see The Durrells team anymore. Season 4 was last and final as I said earlier.

Why Was It Cancelled?
By giving a happy and good ending at the end of season 4. The series finally ended its premiere, thus breaking the hearts of thousands of fans.
Keeley Hawes, one of the most important crew members and also an executive producer, was equally happy and proud with the works the team provided. She added that she was indeed very happy to work with her team for such a long time.
We get to hear about the show’s status from her announcement only. She informed that Simon the writer of the show bided farewell to the entire team. Thus, the show ended with, after drawing a conclusion in the last season.
The Durrells in Corfu Season 4 Story
With a total number of 6 episodes, the show was wrapped up by November only. The historical comedy-drama highlights in this season how the future for the Durrells seems bright.
This season continues with capturing the beautiful lives of the family on the island.
Since this is the last and final season, it is not left on a cliffhanger. But rather has a finished ending. So, don’t worry about this being an incomplete show. Just enjoy the drama to your fullest.
