The series is based on genuine events that occurred on August 6, 1985. Five members of the Bamber-Caffell family are killed in a shooting at White House Farm in Essex. The police are brought in to investigate, led by DCI Taff Jones (Stephen Graham) and DS Stan Jones (Mark Addy). When Jeremy Bamber, the Bambers’ son, was questioned, he said that his sister, Sheila, who was suffering from schizophrenia, went “berserk,” grabbed a silenced rifle, and murdered their parents and Sheila’s six-year-old twin kids. A shocking surprise emerges as the murder investigation progresses.
