Shikakumon no Saikyou Kenja is a fantasy adventure anime based on Shinkoshoto’s light novel series of the same name. Mage crests determine a mage’s magical abilities at birth, and the story is set in this mage-filled fantasy world. Swordmaster Gaius is irritated that his mark is ineffective in close combat. As a result, he reappears in the future and is born with the correct mark, but he quickly discovers that things have changed dramatically during his millennia-long absence. He comes to startling conclusions as he investigates the causes of magical mediocrity.
Noriaki Akitaya directed the first season of the anime. As an episode director, he previously worked on the Bakuman series, the Persona 3 film, and Code Geass. At the same time, they were working on Slow Loop.
Hiroki Uchida, the show’s writer, was in charge of the scripts and overall structure. He became well-known for his work on the anime Gamers! and several episodes of Date A Live Season 3. In early 2022, the writer was also hard at work on the anime Requiem for the Rose King.
The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest Season 2 Release Date
The English dub of Crunchyroll’s The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest now has an official release date.
On January 8, 2022, the first season of ‘The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest’ premiered. After a 2.5-month run of weekly episodes, the first installment concluded on March 26, 2022.
There were no other streaming services that offered the first season of “The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest” by Crunchyroll and VRV (not Netflix, FUNimation, Hulu, or Amazon Prime Video).
Crunchyroll announced the English dub of The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest would be released on January 13, 2022. The anime will also be dubbed in other languages, including Japanese and Korean. But no further updates on Season 2 have yet been provided.

The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest Season 2 Story
A mage’s magical power is indicated by one of four “crests” that they are born with. Gaid, known as the world’s strongest sage due to his crest, has reached the pinnacle of his abilities. Despite his incredible strength, he is dissatisfied with his abilities and wishes to be classified as a close combat fighter. Even though a person’s crest cannot be changed, Gaius plans to return to life in the future in the hopes of changing his fate.
When he is resurrected, he takes on the identity of Mathias Hildesheimr, a six-year-old duke’s son who has always wanted to be a close combat marksman. Magic and swordsmanship appear to have lost much of their appeal to the modern man at this point in time. The only magical items that have been discovered by chance are of poor quality. This includes even the most fundamental spells. As if that weren’t bad enough, his current mark, which was once thought to be the strongest, is now thought to be the weakest.

Mathias, on the other hand, outperforms all expectations. His grades at the royal capital’s Second Academy, where he studies, are outstanding. Mathias, on the other hand, quickly discovers the grim truth behind humanity’s descent into magical mediocrity, demons, and sets out to finally undo the consequences of his millennia-long absence.
The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest Season 2 Characters
We can expect to see the four main characters in the upcoming season. It has been decided to bring back Mathias, Haruko Shiraishi as Arma, Shiori Izawa as Iris, and Sayumi Suzushiro as Lurie. As long as the anime is produced by J.C. Staff, Noriaki Akitaya will almost certainly return to direct the series.
The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest Manga Vs. Anime
The storyline was inspired by the anime’s author and illustrator, Shinkoshoto, and Huuka Kazabana’s novel The Strongest Sage with the Weakest Crest. Shinkoshoto is well-known for his manga/light novel series My Isekai Life, which was adapted into an anime series in 2022.
The story of many isekai books began with a web novel called The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest, which was published on Shousetsu ni Narou (Let’s Become a Novelist). When the story began in December of 2016, there were 341 chapters in total, including the prologue. The web novel was later deleted by the author.
The GA Novel imprint of SB Creative’s publishing imprint began publishing light novel adaptations in 2017. Volume 14 of the light novel series was released on January 15, 2022.
When author Shinkoshoto collaborated with artist LIVER JAM&POP (I’m not even kidding), the manga The Strongest Sage With the Weakest Crest was first serialized in Square Enix’s Manga UP! magazine in July 2017. The manga had reached Volume 17 as of December 10th, 2021.
