Under The Banner Of Heaven Season 2 Story
The film is based on Jon Krakauer’s non-fiction book of the same name. The following is the plot summary for Under the Banner of Heaven: “A dedicated detective’s faith is put to the test as he investigates a horrible murder that appears to be linked to an illustrious Utah family’s descent into LDS fundamentalism and suspicion of the government.”
Jeb, Garfield’s character, is a made-up character, but the case he’s looking into is true. Allen Lafferty returned home to American Fork, Utah, in July 1984 to find his wife, Brenda, and their daughter, Erica, had died. He instantly recognized that his wife had fought off her assailants. Allen was assumed to be a suspect at first, although he had been working on a construction site 80 miles away. He suspected his brothers Dan and Ron of being implicated, and a manhunt was launched. (Dan and Ron were both convicted of murder in 1985 in real life.)

Under the Banner of Heaven has assembled an incredible ensemble cast to bring this true-crime story to life on television, with Andrew Garfield poised to play the lead.
