When Does Naruto Learn Sage Mode?

During the events of Naruto Shippuden, Naruto has an impressive array of extremely powerful Jutsu at his disposal, but Sage Mode is undeniably one of his most powerful tools. Using Nature Energy, Naruto enters Sage Mode, which not only expands the range of Jutsu available to the user but also strengthens their current Jutsu with Senjutsu chakra.

Naruto uses this power frequently in the latter parts of Naruto Shippuden, but some fans may have missed the moment when he learned how to control this incredible ability. Everything you need to know about Naruto’s journey to learn Sage Mode is right here.

Sage Mode is enigmatic, mysterious, and strangely powerful. It was once thought to be a sacred method of training until the teenage riffraff gave it a shot.

Sage Mode is one of Naruto’s most powerful weapons, but when exactly did he learn how to use it? The short answer is chapter 418 of ‘Sage Naruto!!’ volume 45 of the manga. What’s the long answer? Naruto has several Sage Modes, not just the ones whose only difference is whether your powers come from a snake cave or a frog mountain.

Naruto is a large series that includes 72 manga volumes, 11 feature films, and a spin-off series starring his son, Boruto. Naruto has mastered, from a narrative standpoint, all techniques that he set out to achieve as his series nears its epic conclusion. There should be nothing left to reveal, but Masashi Kishimoto, like a world-renowned shinobi, has a few tricks up his sleeve. What role will this Sage transformation play in future battles, for example? And what reptile is a better teacher than a snake?

When Does Naruto Learn Sage Mode?

Naruto begins training in Sage Mode after learning that Pain has killed Jiraiya in Naruto Shippuden episode 154. Naruto does not master the Sage Mode until episode 156.

Naruto went to Mount Myoboku with Fukasaku to train in the art of Senjutsu, where he learned about Nature Energy and the dangers of absorbing too much of it. Naruto is able to enter Sage Mode after achieving the proper balance of Nature Energy. His education, on the other hand, does not end there.

His instructor continues to teach him the Senjutsu technique Frog Kumite, which allows him to land taijutsu attacks from a greater distance. After completing his training in episode 157, Naruto appears in episode 162 with his full Sage skillset to save the Leaf Village when he faces off against the Six Paths of Pain.

Naruto was able to defeat Pain and save the Leaf Village by combining his new ability with the already immense powers he possessed as a result of the Nine-Tails.

How Talented Naruto Really Is?

Naruto was destined for greatness from the start of his first series, as his father implanted the nine-tailed fox demon that was rampaging their village into the infant Naruto. Whether he is blessed or cursed with these abilities, Naruto faces adversity as he strives to become the Hidden Leaf Village’s Hokage or strongest ninja. Naruto and his friends Sasuke and Sakura fight and train in their own ways to achieve their objectives. Naruto, who was born with natural talent, quickly mastered most jutsu, chakra absorption and transference, Rasengan, genjutsu, taijustu, and, of course, the coveted Sexy Technique (mostly used for filler plot in the anime). However, Naruto would only learn Senjutsu, the just required to enter Sage Mode, after a tragic loss.

Naruto, being the natural prodigy that he is, surpassed many of his former masters on his path to becoming Hokage. First, it was Iruka, then Anko, and finally Kakashi, who trained under Guy-sensei and the ‘ghost’ of the Fourth Hokage, Namizake Minato, before learning Senjutsu from Jiraiya. Jiraiya was the closest person to Naruto in terms of personality (aside from Guy-Sensei) and was the one who trained Naruto’s narrative foil, Nagato, only to be killed by the Six Paths of Pain he taught to his first protégé. Naruto sought vengeance and frogs after his master’s tragic death.

Whether you believe in frogs or snakes, the differences in these methods matter in Naruto: Shippuden. Naruto sought training directly from the frog itself after Jiraiya’s death, and it was only then that he was able to balance the forces within him and achieve Perfect Toad Sage Mode. Jiraiya could only ever achieve Imperfect Sage Mode due to a lack of balance and insufficient chakra, despite Naruto’s assistance from around 9 other people. He even got around to having two celestial animals (fox and frog) inhabit his body at the same time by creating shadow clones to gather power and pulling a reverse summons to receive both cosmic creatures’ full chakra flow at the same time.
