The series happens in a dystopian world that spins around giant mechanical creepy insects called Cagasters which eats humans which takes place in the year 2125. The world is dominated by those insects and people struggle for their lives. These horrible creatures were once ordinary people like others, yet after the epidemic of a dangerous infection, a few people transformed into something evil and possessed some “evolutionary” feature. Kidou, the main character of the arrangement, is a boy who functions as an executioner that means he destroys the insects in exchange for something like money. One day, after returning from a mission, he founds a girl named Illie which he involuntarily had to take care of. After the course of some time, he and Illie became fond of each other, and subsequently, the world stars face some changes and more dark secrets began to reveal both about the Cagasters and that girl Illie.
