Leave The World Behind is about the Sandford family and a potential cataclysm. The movie starts with Amanda Sandford planning a trip to a rental house on Long Island to spend time with her family. Her family consists of herself, her husband Clay, their daughter Rose, and her son Archie. While traveling to their destination, they stop at a grocery store and see a man stocking up on canned food and water.
As they relax at a beach, they see an oil tanker crashing and go to the guest house. Unfortunately, when they arrive, they see there is no network connection. The Wi-Fi has no network, and the television has stopped working. The same night, George H. Scott and his daughter Ruth knocked on their door. They claim they are here because of a citywide blackout. The next day does not get any better.
Everyone is in a foul mood. Rose wants to watch the finale of Friends, Amanda sees a large herd of deer, Clay drives to town, and G. H. goes to his neighbor’s house.
