More Than A Married Couple But Not Lovers Season 2 Story

This anime is adapted from the eponymous Japanese manga series by Yuki Kanamaru. The manga has been serialized in Kadokawa Shoten’s Seinen manga magazine titled Young Ace since 2018. The chapters of the manga were later collated and published in 9 tankobon volumes as of October 2022. The anime adaptation of the manga was picked up by Studio Mother.

The plot of the anime is uniquely hilarious. The story begins when Jiro gets paired with Akari. Too short of an explanation? Okay!

Jiro is an introverted high-school student. He loves his own company and playing video games. However, the tragedy of his story is he has a crush on his childhood friend but never gets himself enough confidence to speak his feelings out. In this situation, his high school decides to start a couples training session to “develop social skills” (This already sounds hilarious). They are given the task of interacting with their partners (with whoever they will be paired with) as married couples on which they will get judged.

During this session, Jiro gets paired with Akari. To Akari, Jiro is extremely repulsive and should be paired with the popular girl instead. Nevertheless, they decide to let go of their differences when they get to know if they earn enough points they can switch their partners. Jiro wanted to be paired with his childhood crush, and Akari wanted to pair with anyone else but Jiro because of his repulsive behavior. However, things take a turn when they both start to develop feelings for each other.
