12 Anime like Gurren Lagann That You Must Watch

Gurren Lagann also referred to as Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann in Japan is a Japanese mecha animation tv show produced by Aniplex and Gainax and animated by Gainax. During April and September 2007, it aired on TV Tokyo for 27 segments. It was directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, and the screenplay was written by Kazuki Nakashima, a great dramatist. Gurren Lagann is set in a fictitious future when the Spiral King, Lordgenome, rules the Earth and compels humanity to dwell in segregated subterranean settlements.

The story follows Simon and Kamina, two youngsters who dwell in an underground hamlet and aspire to get to the surface. Simon and Kamina reach the surface with the help of a mecha known as Lagann and begin battling beside other humans versus Lordgenome’s forces until battling the troops of their ultimate opponent.

Within North America, the license was first confirmed by ADV Films in 2007, but it was then moved to Bandai Entertainment in 2008, and eventually to Aniplex of America around 2013. It was first licensed by Manga Entertainment in the United Kingdom in 2007, then moved to Beez Entertainment in 2008, then finally to Anime Restricted in 2013.

Gurren Lagann was purchased by the Science – fiction Network and shown in July 2008 as part of the Science – fiction Ani-Monday animation block. Now at Tokyo International Anime Fair, as well as the Animation Kobe and Japan Media Arts Festivals, the animation received numerous honors.

Next up is an animated series that is so good that it is indeed one of the biggest animation series of all time. As one of the oldest continuously animated series in Japanese animation ever simply implies that this has been very well executed. One Piece is the name of this popular shounen animated series.

The spectacular pirate tale of Monkey D. Luffy as he starts on a sea quest to find the mythical pirate treasure – One Piece – is told in One Piece. As he sails through dangerous oceans, he makes a few pals (Nakama) who will help him create the reputation of his own pirate group, the Straw Hat Pirates.

Just after her dad’s passing, Ryuuko Matoi travels to several locations in pursuit of answers about her dad’s murderer. As she wanders from one hint to the next, she eventually finds herself at the Honnouji Academy. Pupils at that insane institution dress special “Goku” outfits, which are one-of-a-kind costumes that enable the wearer to perform impressive things and wield tremendous power.

As Ryuuko learns much more about the institution, she meets Satsuki Kiryuin, the pupil student body’s head and the one who has the most important clues to what Ryuuko is looking for. As a result, there was no stopping the confrontation among two strong females with out-of-this-world skills from happening immediately.
