Gurren Lagann also referred to as Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann in Japan is a Japanese mecha animation tv show produced by Aniplex and Gainax and animated by Gainax. During April and September 2007, it aired on TV Tokyo for 27 segments. It was directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, and the screenplay was written by Kazuki Nakashima, a great dramatist. Gurren Lagann is set in a fictitious future when the Spiral King, Lordgenome, rules the Earth and compels humanity to dwell in segregated subterranean settlements.
The story follows Simon and Kamina, two youngsters who dwell in an underground hamlet and aspire to get to the surface. Simon and Kamina reach the surface with the help of a mecha known as Lagann and begin battling beside other humans versus Lordgenome’s forces until battling the troops of their ultimate opponent.
Within North America, the license was first confirmed by ADV Films in 2007, but it was then moved to Bandai Entertainment in 2008, and eventually to Aniplex of America around 2013. It was first licensed by Manga Entertainment in the United Kingdom in 2007, then moved to Beez Entertainment in 2008, then finally to Anime Restricted in 2013.
Gurren Lagann was purchased by the Science – fiction Network and shown in July 2008 as part of the Science – fiction Ani-Monday animation block. Now at Tokyo International Anime Fair, as well as the Animation Kobe and Japan Media Arts Festivals, the animation received numerous honors.

His purpose now would be to wreak his vengeance by assassinating all of the globe’s giants and reclaiming everything which truly belongs to mankind. As a result, Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) starts its spectacular plot and combat!
2. One Piece
Next up is an animated series that is so good that it is indeed one of the biggest animation series of all time. As one of the oldest continuously animated series in Japanese animation ever simply implies that this has been very well executed. One Piece is the name of this popular shounen animated series.
The spectacular pirate tale of Monkey D. Luffy as he starts on a sea quest to find the mythical pirate treasure – One Piece – is told in One Piece. As he sails through dangerous oceans, he makes a few pals (Nakama) who will help him create the reputation of his own pirate group, the Straw Hat Pirates.
As they travel through the pirate world’s tidal currents, they will all be part of an enormous and hilarious quest that will take not only the sea but the entire planet. The hunt for One Piece, the mythical treasure, begins.
3. Kill la Kill
From makers of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, come to this amazing anime filled with spectacular feats that will truly make one’s head explode in astonishment!
Just after her dad’s passing, Ryuuko Matoi travels to several locations in pursuit of answers about her dad’s murderer. As she wanders from one hint to the next, she eventually finds herself at the Honnouji Academy. Pupils at that insane institution dress special “Goku” outfits, which are one-of-a-kind costumes that enable the wearer to perform impressive things and wield tremendous power.
As Ryuuko learns much more about the institution, she meets Satsuki Kiryuin, the pupil student body’s head and the one who has the most important clues to what Ryuuko is looking for. As a result, there was no stopping the confrontation among two strong females with out-of-this-world skills from happening immediately.
Given that somehow this series was developed by the very same team that brought viewers Gurren Lagann, one can absolutely guarantee that Kill la Kill will live up to the hype.
4. Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Because they experimented with alchemy, two brothers attempted to bring their mom back from the grave in Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. In their universe, that is forbidden. Moreover, brothers lose a part of themselves as a result of this, despite the fact that the younger sibling obtains the stick’s short end. As a result, animation tracks the guys on their quest to restore their bodies to normalcy.

7. My Hero Academia
My Hero Academia is all about a young kid called Izuku Midoriya who was raised in a society that lacks quirks or superpowers as they are known in his universe. Midoriya enrolls in UA High with his idols who could be at his command following the meeting with All Great power, his idol. As a result, the series depicts Midoriya’s path to becoming the world’s largest biggest hero.
My Hero Academia, like Gurren Lagann, is a series for fans of combat, beautifully rendered sequences, and great music. Both programs have underdog protagonists that viewers will root for.
8. Neon Genesis Evangelion
Gendo Ikari urges his child, Shinji, to pilot a massive cybernetic known as an Evangelion to defeat an unknown threat known as Angels in Neon Genesis Evangelion. As a result, the series depicts Shinji and other Evangelion operators in their journey to protect mankind.
Neon Genesis Evangelion, like Gurren Lagann, features a varied ensemble of characters who pilot huge mechanical machines to combat an extraterrestrial menace. Not just that, although both shows include unforgettable tunes and scenes that will linger in the minds of fans over the years.
9. Guilty Crown
Guilty Crown tells the story of a young kid named Shuu Ouma who is caught in the middle of a Japanese battle here between GHQ and a self-governing team of men working opposing him. Shuu’s circumstances change after he meets a mystery woman who teaches him to uncover an ability he never knew he possessed.
Shuu, like Simon from Gurren Lagann, suffers from his own set of tragedies and tribulations before finding a role model figure. Both series are beautifully created, with captivating music that will comfort any anime lover.

10. F.L.C.L. (Fooly Cooly)
FLCL is all about a young child called Naota Nandaba who is attacked by a crazy woman who slams her bike into his head, leading him to grow an unusual-looking horn on his forehead. Despite his desire to live a happy future, he has now accompanied this lady to learn the value of having thoughts and growing into a man.
FLCL, like Gurren Lagann, is a strange, zany anime about a young hero in a world steeped in the craziness. FLCL also features fierce fight scenes, amusing character interactions, and a fascinating soundtrack.
11. Eureka Seven
Eureka Seven has aspects with Gurren Lagann, such as mecha combat, light humor, and story complexity. There is really a lot more stuff that connects the two. But, in general, we’re concentrating on the plot’s profundity in this one. After all, Eureka Seven will undoubtedly exceed any expectations in terms of sheer greatness.
